Dad got Sing Star for Christmas. He was very excited. Last night we had Vicky and the boys, our neighbours, over for a 'Sing Star Battle'. Watch out if you come to stay ... better bring your singing voice.
Hi family, glad you've popped in to see what we have been up to. Please leave us some comments.

Christmas Day at our place...
We started at 6am! Santa was generous with his gifts.
Grant couldn't wait till the afternoon to open his pressies, so he got to open one at 'Santa Time'.
Everyone got something festive to wear at the table.
Yoda didn't want to miss out on the festivities.
Fiona had a natural motherly touch with Reece.
Tim's most exciting moment was finding the guinea-pig hutch.
The guinea-pigs arrive when we return from holiday.

Reece is the latest recipient (victim) of Pa's baby voice conversations.

Port Hills Walk
Today we had a walk at Victoria Park, up to the Sign of the Kiwi to get an ice-cream, but we found out it was closed (jolly earthquake!). We had a really fun time and we got an ice-cream after instead.

Koalie Returns
Yoda has got the sneezes so we went to the vet to check him out. In the waiting room, on the very top of the toy box I saw Koalie sitting looking like he'd been played with by lots of happy kids. I picked him up straight away and started hugging him. I can't believe I found him there. He is finally home after 5 months, I'm so happy.

The Big Match
This afternoon we played a game of basketball, 2 on 2. It was a really fun game. Mum got hit on the nose a bit, but other than that everyone had a good fair game. Tim didn't like it at the start, but he got better and better. Me and Dad made a good team.

Buster Sitting
Last weekend when we came home from karate we found someone fluffy in our backyard. He is a guinea-pig called Buster. Noah our friend gave him to us for the week because he was going away for a holiday on the Gold Coast. Buster is very cute and a big fat fluff ball. We like to bring him into the back room and play with him in Fluffy World. But Yoda is a hazzard when he is around, so we try to keep Buster away from Yoda.

Yeeha, December is here.
We love December. Every morning we open the advent calendar and follow the clue to find a character from the nativity scene that is hidden somewhere around the house. Today we found the sheep grazing under the trampoline.

Special Community Award
Earlier this year Tim and Jack were given a Junior Neighbourhood Support Award for coming back to school after the earthquake on Feb 22nd to bring food and toys for the children who were waiting to be collected later in the afternoon. Today the lady from neighbourhood support awarded the supreme award for her favourite act of community support this year, at our PRIDE assembly today. Guess who she picked??

We love water fights!
It was play day at our place this afternoon and the boys had a blast pelting each other with their water guns. It took a wee while to establish the rules of engagement, and occasionally these were not followed, but they were still smiling at the end ... hope the neighbours didn't mind the noise!

Play Station 3
For our birthday Mum and Dad gave us a Play Station 3. We have bought 2 games and we are having a fun time playing on it. The games are Little Big Planet 2 and Sports Champions. On Sports Champions we have unlocked silver cup on Galdiator fighting and on Little Big Planet we have got up to the second stage. It's hard to choose my favourite game.

Kaikoura Weekend
Kaikoura Weekend on PhotoPeach
Just back from a lovely couple of days in Kaikoura. Highlights would have to be, the candlelit bath on the deck (Mum), the Nerf gun fight (all the boys) and seeing the seals so close up. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

And a big thanks from Jack
My birthday highlights were probably playing on my MGP scooter, playing Heroica with Tim and playing on the Play Station 3. Thankyou everyone for the lovely presents and the money that I used to buy the scooter.
Love Jack
A big thanks from Tim
Thanks you for all the lovely presents you have given me for my birthday. I've a lovely time making my models and playing with Heroica. I got a Play Station 3 from Mum and Dad but at the moment Dad is hogging it and he is breaking promises and not letting me have a go!
Love Tim
Mmmmm .. I was concerned about giving Play Station to the boys, hadn't considered the Grant factor, he doesn't respond to a time limit as well as Tim and Jack.

Birthday Party
Birthday Party on PhotoPeach
This is our birthday party. First we went to Spencer Park where we had a treasure hunt, ate lots of yummy delicious food and made small rivers inside the sandpit. Next we went over the road to Adrenaline Forest; before we started climbing we had to do the safety briefing, then we raced up the ladder to course one, once we went down the final flying fox, we climbed up the biggest ladder to course 2. When we were all down on the ground again with no harnesses on any more, we went trooping for pine cones on the forest floor. Everybody had a great time.

Story Time
Every night we have a bedtime story on the couch. Right now it is called 'Mr Gum and the Cherry Tree'. It is a really funny book and we read it on the iPad. We hope you enjoy this wee bit of the story. Mr Gum is a BAD MAN!

Back into the swing of things.
A final cheers from our Rarotongan holiday. Seems like a distant memory now that we are back into the work and school routine again. However, it's just 6 and a half weeks till the next school holidays... And only 10 sleeps till the 9th of November!!

That beautiful beach...
We loved spending time on the beach at Rarotonga, it was just as good as it looks!
Tim's fish identification chart came in very handy when we went snorkelling. Tim was able to take it in the water with him and kept us informed on what all the fish were called. It was just magical!
As you can see the water was crystal clear and very warm too.
Some of the coconuts on the beach looked strangely human.

Activities Galore
Activities Galore on PhotoPeach
There was always something to do on our holiday. Dad loved challenging people to table tennis games (he won the championship match!). Mum and Tim enjoyed making the floral head pieces. There were several epic chess challenges. The fire show at night was really impressive. Tim and Anishka enjoyed the coconut talk and demonstration. These were just some of the things we did.

Fun in the Pool
Pool Fun on PhotoPeach
One of our favourite places was in the pool; not quite as warm as the sea, but still a great place on a hot day. One day Dad pushed Mum in so we made sure we got him back! Mum thinks Jack is a bit like her Grandma was when it came to getting in the water for a swim, can you spot the photo that shows this? We even got to swim after tea one night. (If you click on the photos they go bigger.)

Our Rarotongan Holiday
We have just got back from the best holiday ever! Seven days in warm, sunny, relaxing Rarotonga. Over the next few days we'll tell you about some of our holiday highlights.
We spent our holiday with Sakthy, Alan, Rohan and Anishka.
On the way over we spotted Dan Carter's Dad in the Koru Club in Christchurch. Then guess who he sat next to on the plane ... our Jack!! We have never seen Jack so talkative to someone he has never met. Jack's first question was, 'Do you have any children?' They had quite a chat and Jack gleaned some interesting information. Can you spot Dan's Dad in the picture?
We arrived at the Rarotangan resort after midnight and it was still about 23 degrees... bliss!
Come visit again tomorrow, for more about our holiday.

Creative Jack
Today I made this carrier spaceship with 9 people on it. It's really cool because people can jump off chains and swing down and I really like it. I got the idea of the people jumping off from Avatar, the movie we watched last night.

Today I started learning kamite (Japenese for fighting) in karate. I got Student of the Week for my amazing skills.

Thursday Play-Day
Since we were babies we have been playing with Charlie once a week. A few years ago Angus joined us, so now we are 4. Today we had heaps of fun on the trampoline, playing all sorts of boy games.

Tuesday Nights
Every Tuesday we go to BOSCO after school, then mum comes to get us and we go home and have fish and chips for tea, yum! We do this every Tuesday. Do you have a night like that in your house when you have the same thing for dinner each week?

Tables Whiz
Jack has reached AA (advanced additive) for his basic facts and is busy learning his tables. We're having a contest to see how many he can answer correctly in 2 minutes. On Friday he got 12 and tonight he got 15. As you can see, Jack isn't his usual bouncy self today; he's all stuffed up with a cold and nasty cough... but it's just 5 days till the holidays ... YIPEE.

Happy Birthday to Mum
I'm now on the slippery slope towards 90, I think it's about now you start to forget how old you are! We've had a lovely day; lunch out with David and Ellen and Jenny, then dinner out with Grant. I wore your scarf Ellen and it looked great.
